Like most off seasons for the Blue Jackets' fans it has been long but, unlike many it's been busy. Jeff Carter trade that sent fan favorite Jakub Voracek packing but started the ball rolling on several other moves. Such as James Wisniewski trade (remember it was a trade of a 5th rounder that made it happen) and the free agent pick ups of Radek Martinek and Vinny Prospal.
Also, the speculation of the landing spot of Ryan Johansen for the season. Will David Savard or John Moore crack the lineup? Will Antoine Vermette play center or wing and the biggest question of all is will Steve Mason regain form with a new goaltending coach and help lead the Jackets back to the post season.
These are just a few of the things that are on the lips of the fans of the Columbus franchise and are dying to talk about. No worries as it has been taken care of.
Cannonfest is back and is sure to even be better than last year which was an unbelievable success. Not only is it fun to have a group of fans with a common passion talk about that passion but to have a group of writers and bloggers there to agree with or even spar with them over what they have put out there. There will also be management from the Columbus Blue Jackets in Vice President of Public Relations, Todd Sharrock. Also, Ryan Holtmann who is Manager of Communication as well as Director of Game Operations/Event Presentation in Derek Dawley.
The fans will also be respresented as the Jacket Backers, Arch City Army, and Reclaim our Barn folks will be attending.
Some great prizes will be raffled off as well and Skraut will premier his 2011/2012 video that you won't want to miss.
So with that, mark your calendar, write it on your arm, tatoo it to your forehead (of course in reverse so you can see it in the mirror) but don't miss Cannonfest on Sunday, August 14th from 2pm to 4pm.
