Back in a big way

Last week as I walked into Staples Center for the LA Kings home opener, there was a palpable air of excitement.

A client left tickets in Sec. 103, commonly referred to as the
"Hollywood section". These are the rows of seats down low to the
right of the Kings net filled with rich and famous Angelenos, many
sporting the latest in face lifts, boob jobs, tummy tucks, and
liposection..there was lots of action in the peanut gallery.

But the revelation was what was happening on the ice, not in the stands.

The GAME was fast...the GAME was exciting...the GAME was end to end
action...and the crowd loved it. With all the hooking, holding,
clutching and grabbing curtailed, the GAME is now skill and speed.
With speed comes collision and this game had plenty of that.

As the crowd filed out of Staples with a buzz (sorry Ek) in the
air...it was clear to me that hockey is back. Back in a big way!
