CONSOL Energy Center

As expected, it has been a very slow August thus far when it comes to Penguins news. Outside of the Kovalchuk soap opera it has been pretty quiet around the NHL. So I decided to put up some more photos of the CONSOL Energy Center for you.

The is a view of Suite 66, with the actual suite to the left and the Penguins' locker-room runway to the right. This suite offers unique views of the players making their way on and off the ice.

Mario Lemieux donated his collection of miniature trophies to be displayed in the suite. This exclusive area also contains some of Lemieux's most important game-used sticks, including his 500-goal stick, 600-goal stick and five-goals-five-different-ways stick.

The trainers' area, located just off the Penguins' locker room.

The completed hydrotherapy room includes a hot tub, cold tub and submerged treadmill.

The Penguins' new gym, complete with sprinting track.

The visitors' locker room. Mellon Arena had a notoriously awful visiting locker room. The new room at CONSOL can now facilitate the needs of trainers and equipment managers.

The organ played during all home games.
