The Flyers have made a depth signing with the addition of free agent veteran defenseman Dan Jancevski. He received a two-year, two-way contract that will pay him $525,000 at the NHL level and $250,000 to play in the AHL.

The 29-year-old Jancevski is a former second-round pick of the Dallas Stars. The 6-foot-3, 212 pound blueliner has suited up in 9 NHL games for Dallas (two stints) and the Tampa Bay Lightning over parts of three seasons. This past season, he was a mainstay on the Texas Stars team that reached the Calder Cup Final against the Hershey Bears.

Jancevski did not suit up in any NHL games in 2009-10, but got into 3 games with the Stars in 2008-09. His best statistical pro season was in 2005-06, when he tallied 9 goals and 38 points in the AHL for the Iowa Stars.

Jancevski should add a veteran presence next season to an Adirondack Phantoms blueline that will include second-season AHLers Kevin Marshall, Joonas Lehtivuori and Marc-Andre Bourdon as well as rookie Erik Gustafvsson. If the NHL club is racked by injuries on the blueline, he could also fill in on the Flyers' defense for a few games.
