The Isles Perfect Cloning?

The NHL schedule official comes out tomorrow, but today the pre-season dates were released along with the home opener. If you haven't already heard from nine different outlets -- or maybe not -- the Isles will play five preseason games in five locations so get a passport and a credit card.

The pre-season schedule will open on Sept. 29th with two "split-squad" games one in Saskatoon against the Calgary Flames and one in Philadelphia against the Flyers. Now, I totally understand how this can be possible since they always bring far more players to training camp than they can possible use, but --

Have they finally figured out how to clone Scott Gordon? Will he be coaching via web cam from one place to the other? How does this work? There's one of him and like 50 players.
Last I checked we had two assistant coaches. Who else is getting behind the bench and where? Maybe Brian Trottier? He's got coaching experience. Throw him behind a bench and see what happens.

Let's continue, on Friday 10/1 a single team of Islanders will play at the Rock against the Devils. But the next night, on Saturday 10/2 they again have double vision and one team will be at the Coliseum and another will be in a parallel universe at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City facing the Halak-less Montreal Canadians.

One week later, on 10/9 the Isles play Dallas at the Coliseum to officially open the 2010-2011 season.

I hope everyone gets on the right plan because this sounds like a logistical nightmare but fun for fans and a way to get to see how everyone fares in game day scenarios.

Thanks to Blake Price from Team 1040 Vancouver radio for inviting me on today to talk Islanders draft. I almost puked when I heard Pierre McGuire was on before me. That was really a surprise. I hope I didn't disappoint you guys. When I asked the producer how they found me, he said through HockeyBuzz! He even mentioned the Lobster Fritters on my 7thWoman blogspot. Schnoice!

It is going to be a long summer, but at least it's going to be an interesting week!
