**11:30 pm And no surprise to anyone Rick DiPietro is shut down for the balance of the season. The swelling has not subsided in his knee enough to attempt an appearance. Better safe than sorry, right? sure.

**Postgame: 4-3 in OT: Yep, the NY Islanders finally won a game in Columbus OH. It's about time. Of course, we're not too sure we wanted them to win. But they did.

Kyle Okposo finally didn't hit the post but the back of the net to give the Islanders their first goal of the evening and then Sean Bergenheim put them up by two with his 7th goal of the season. I expected him to be able to get 15 to 20. It won't even be close.

Once Umberger scored within the first few seconds of the second period, you had to wonder if the Isles would again lose after leading. Then Rick Nash scored at only 33 seconds into the third to tie the game. Only a few seconds later, Clitsome scored his first goal to put the Jackets over the Isles and I had to laugh.

This team can't hold a lead, but then again, how can they with what they are working with. Three minutes later, Jon Sim tied the game and there was hope once more. The game went into overtime, so I knew they had one point at least. More than they have ever taken from Columbus.

But it was Josh Bailey who became man of the hour when he won the game at 2:58 of the OT period. He needed to the hero for a change. It's his 15th goal of the season. Not bad. Not great.

The Islanders took four penalties. The Blue Jackets took NONE! The Isles managed to kill off three of the four penalties.

Anton played 8 shifts and 6:20. The previous call-up Mark Flood played 22 shifts and 15:03. Hillen played 26:33 and Freddy Meyer played 27:23. But Mark Streit played a rediculous 32:29. I'm pretty sure I saw a tweet that said Kyle Okposo played D for a shift or two.

The game was on MSG PLusPlus times three so it was like watching it through Jello. We lost our usual pre-game show and there was zero post game report. I did get to see John Tortorella not answer questions from Sam Rosen and lived through 45 minutes of Rangers and Devils interviews but not one Islander postgame interview. Oh! Unless you want to count Bobby Nystrom on the phone talking about hosting the Flames for dinner the night before.

Isles face the Rangers again on Tuesday. With one hand I am hoping that whatever it is that Avery had happen to him this evening will keep him out of the game Tuesday. However, on the other hand, if he's out of the line-up there's a possibility he'll be up in the press box. If that is the case -- I should be in jail by 8:45 pm on Tuesday.

Have a good weekend.

10am: The injury list continues as it seems that Bruno Gervais will not in the line-up tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The emergency call up this time is Anton Klementyev. The 6'1" 200 lb "D" was drafted in the 5th Round of the 2009 entry draft. He turned 20 years old only two days ago. Consider this a late birthday present Anton.

He has played 28 games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, has 3 points and is a -8. Expect Mark Streit, who is already exhausted to see about 45 minutes of ice time. Is there a law on the NHL as how much ice time a player can get?

I fully expect it to be Dwayne Roloson in net against the Blue Jackets. But of course, Gordon will hold that info until the very last minute. Mathieu Garon will face off against the Isles for the Jackets. I got that info off Twitter. To get the starting goalie out of Scott Gordon the day before a game, I'd have to hold him at gunpoint. And even then...

According to the NY Post pre-game article this morning (as Newsday had NONE) the Islanders have never been able to win in Columbus. I don't expect anything different today.

More about tonight's game as the day progresses -- should any decide to text me.

"Tweet me, babe. Tweet me." ;o)

Have a wonderful Saturday. And supposedly EarthHour is tonight. So maybe we can turn off all the lights and watch the game in the dark for an hour. That would still help conserve energy -- and still keep my sanity.
