Don’t be surprised if the New York Rangers bring back defenseman Brian Leetch.

New York is where Leetch belongs and a deal could be announced very soon.

Please squash all this talk about Leetch signing with the St. Louis Blues. This has virtually no chance of happening.

Leetch and Blues President John Davidson are very good friends but no deal has been discussed.

Bogie On down!

Blues fans might be interested to learn that former Blue Eric Boguniecki has signed a contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Boguniecki says he is healthy and as confident as he has been in three years. Health has been an issue with Boguniecki, a former AHL MVP and 20-goal scorer in the NHL, since he injured his shoulder during training camp in 2003. He ended up having his shoulder operated on and has never been the same player since. Boguniecki is determined to reestablish himself as a quality offensive player in the league.

The Blues will be sending several prospects to Traverse City, Michigan for the NHL prospects tournament beginning September eighth. Prospects that have committed to play thus far include:

Carl Soderberg

Marek Schwarz

Reto Berra

Konstantin Zakharov

David Backes

David Fredriksson

Michal Birner

Tomas Kana

Jonas Junland

Alexander Hellstrom

Roman Polak

Scott Jackson

More to come,
