Madison Square Garden witnessed a goalie duel that lasted four rounds into the shootout, where Patrik Elias sealed the deal over Henrik Lundqvist's glove.
Marty! Marty! Marty!
Martin Brodeur was perfect and flawless. 51 saves and did not give up a goal during the shootout. He extended his personal best of 107 career shutouts and 586 wins in the regular season, both a NHL record.
Sean Avery was ineffective in distracting the Devils netminder. All night long, Brodeur was fantastic in net and had no room for error. After Elias' goal, the crowd erupted as many Devils fans were in attendance .
Zero Zero Games
Aren't they exciting? 96 shots on goal. These are the games I like to watch. I am not talking about what the scoreboard says. The flow of the game was fluid and the chances on net further into the game, your heart was pounding.
