9:58 PM EST - The impossible record is now Martin Brodeur's and the state of New Jersey! 104 Shutout of his career. The Devils are NOW in first place of the entire NHL! Wow.

9:54 PM EST - 2:30 to go and Brodeur had a close call.

9:48 PM EST - Pens are trying to make their move and Brodeur is still holding his own. 5:30 to go.

9:06 PM EST - Good to see the Devils defense coming to Marty's rescue. Anyone that gets near Brodeur should pay the price. Kunitz tried and failed. Devils are up 4-0. End of the second period. Marty is 20 minutes away from making history in Pittsburgh.

9:04 PM EST - Devils are on the PK.

9:00 PM EST - Marty is 20 for 20. History in the making. And now a big fight is on. Dean McAmmond was in the middle of it. Penguins looking to rally.

8:50 PM EST - Brent Johnson is in net for Pittsburgh. I am thinking. If Marty gets the shutout in this building, the city of Pittsburgh should not tear it down and consider it a historical landmark. 104! 104! I don't believe in superstition and jinxes. This is Marty's routine on being soooooo good.

8:47 PM EST - Down goes Fleury! Fraser scores!!!!! Now it is 4-0 New Jersey! This isn't funny. I think the Devils are in Wilkes Barre right now.

8:43 PM EST - Devils "fleury" of shots on goal. Now, Devils up 3-0 Patrik Elias with the goal. Are the Devils this good because I don't see anything special about the Pens so far?

8:38 PM EST - Jordan Staal gets hit with the puck. Hope he is okay. Don't know why the Pens fans are booing. It's not a penalty.

8:34 PM EST- The Devils are back on the PK. Wasn't that the longest delayed penalty you have seen? Brodeur looks sharp. Pens PP.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz.....

8:32 PM EST - Brodeur is a stone wall tonight. Stopped Malkin after a turnover and then made some key saves. The PK unit comes through again.

8:30 PM EST - Parise is shooting the puck and attacking the offensive zone. Only a matter of time he will score.

8:29 PM EST - How is that a Devils penalty? 4 on 4 now.

8:28 PM EST - Devils back on the power play.

8:26 PM EST - Start of the 2nd period. Devils are on the power play and Bergfors scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 New Jersey

8:08 PM EST - At the end of the first period, the Devils are up 1-0 over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

8:07 PM EST - Devils are on the power play with about 16 seconds left.

8:01 PM EST - Colin White just laid a Scott Stevens type hit that knocked over two Penguins players.

8:01 PM EST - End of the first period. The Devils are up 1-0. New Jersey's transition game has been fast and the break out passes have been crisp.

8:00 PM EST - Penalty killed.

7:55 PM EST - Devils have a good flurry in the Pens zone, but show up with nothing. Now they are on the penalty kill. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz...................(Pens power play unit)

7:44 PM EST - WOOOOO!!!!!!!! Bryce Salvador scores!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Pens crowd is so quiet tonight. And the crowd is so quiet. And it's one......nothing.........NEW JERSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

7:43 PM EST - I forgot to mention that during the pre-game, I called my colleague, Brian Metzer, and wished his team good luck. When I do that, the Devils are 5-0-0 and he still doesn't answer his phone. LOL

7:40 PM EST - Crosby had a good shot on Brodeur. But Marty said no and "easily" turned it aside.

7:38 PM EST - The Pitt home crowd has a win win situation. If their team wins, they will be happy. If the Devils win, they get to see Marty set a new record of 580 career wins; a new NHL record.

7:33 PM EST- Game is about to start. I'll be scoreboard watching as the other teams in the Atlantic are playing. I want to see the Devils 3rd and 4th lines wear down the Pittsburgh defense.

7:05 PM EST - I am watching the Devils pre-game. This will be the last regular season game for the Devils being played at the Igloo. Maybe the last would be a four game sweep of the Pens in the playoffs. Will Marty break the shutout record tonight?
