In case you are not inclined to listen to the podcast...and I have no idea why you wouldn't want to listen...
Here's the short version of what you need to know:
Miami swept St. Cloud State; Denver split with Vermont; Michigan lost to Alaska, but beat Alaska-Anchorage in the Kendall Hockey Classic; in the upset of the weekend Notre Dame lost to Alabama-Huntsville, but salvaged the split on Saturday; North Dakota swept Merrimack; UMass-Lowell beat St Lawrence, but lost to Nebraska-Omaha in the Ice Breaker Tournament; and my beloved Minutemen defeated RPI 5-2.
The polls irk me...as usual...but here they are anyway...
#1 - Miami
#2 - Boston University
#3 - Denver
#4 - North Dakota
#5 - Michigan
#6 - Cornell
#7 - Notre Dame
#8 - Minnesota
#9 - Princeton
#10 - Yale
#11 - Vermont
#12 - Boston College
#13 - UMass-Lowell
#14 - Wisconsin
#15 - Nebraska-Omaha
My fantasy team filled with Former College Hockey Studs won Week 1 in convincing fashion led by the NHL's first and second Star of the Week, Dany Heatley and Jonathan Quick.
Spoke with junior defenseman and Colorado Avalanche prospect, Colby Cohen from the Boston University about what we can expect from the Terriers this season.
On TV this weekend, be sure to tune into FSN North at 8:30pm eastern on Friday and Saturday nights to see North Dakota and Minnesota square off in a battle that is sure to be of epic proportions. You can also see BC take on Vermont on Sunday at 5pm eastern on ESPNU.
Don't forget to check out the first installment of my new "On Campus..." video series to help you get a better feel of the atmosphere at college hockey games.

And finally, the link to
the real story behind the Big Ten hockey conference chatter that I told you about in the podcast.
That's all for now!
Till next time!
