In case you are not inclined to listen to the podcast...

Here's the short version of what you need to know:

First up my fantasy team for this week...

At Center: Mike Cammalleri, Zach Parise, Ryan Kesler and Benn Ferriero.
On the Right side: Dany Heatley, Martin St. Louis, Mike Knuble and Bill Guerin.
On the left: Chris Kunitz, James van Riemsdyk, Viktor Stalberg and David Steckel.
On Defense: Ryan Whitney, Matt Carle, Alex Gologoski, Matt Gilroy, Jack Johnson and Matt Niskanen.
Between the pipes: Ryan Miller and Jonathan Quick

If you weren't keeping track, that's three Wolverines, two Eagles, two Terriers, two Catamounts, two Buckeyes, two Bulldogs - although they're from different schools - a Fighting Sioux, a Wildcat, a Badger, a Pioneer, a Gopher, a Spartan, a Minuteman and...a partridge in a pear tree :)

The CCHA adopted the shootout last year to decide ties and this year, they've decided to make all their games worth three points.

The Fighting Sioux will live to see another day...for now. The North Dakota Board of Higher Education has granted a 30 day extension to their October 1st deadline for the University of North Dakota to gain tribal approval for the use of the Sioux name and logo with the possibility of extending it another 30 days until the end of November.

Finally, I spoke with sophomore defenseman from the University of Denver and 2008 draft pick of the Ottawa Senators, Patrick Wiercioch about what we can look forward to from the Pioneers this season.

Till next time!

Julie
