PREVIEW

The Flyers will look to build off the positive things they accomplished in the first period of last night's wild win over Toronto when the club travels to Ottawa tonight to take on a mediocre Senators club. With the Flyers playing on back-to-back nights and playing for the third time in four nights, it's important that they keep their shifts short and play a more disciplined and defensively solid 60 minutes of hockey than they displayed in recent games.

The biggest challenge any team faces when playing Ottawa is preventing the Senators top line of Dany Heatley, Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson from single-handedly taking over the game. The last time the clubs met, the Flyers had no answers for containing the trio.

With all the attention paid last night to Jeff Carter's first NHL hat trick, the play of Danny Briere -- and the burgeoning chemistry he showed with rookie Claude Giroux -- got a little bit overshadowed. Last night's effort was the type of performance the Flyers will need out of Briere during the playoffs. He had tremendous jump.

Possible line combination (subject to change)

Gagne - Richards - Knuble
Hartnell - Carter - Lupul
Briere - Giroux - Asham
Cote - Powe - Carcillo

Timonen - Parent
Coburn - Carle
Alberts - Jones

Biron/Niittymaki
