Sutter's laissez faire coaching keeps everyone guessing

Brent Sutter has been tight lipped about when and how much Martin Brodeur will be playing after suffering a biceps injury.

“These last 20 games of the season, you are playing teams at a high level and you need your goaltending to be sharp and good,” Sutter said to reporters.

Supply and demand works in the favor of Sutter when it comes to goaltending. Scott Clemmensen and Kevin Weekes have 32 wins between them and the Devils in first place of the Atlantic division. Now, Sutter will have three capable goaltenders on the roster.

During the Power Play with Gary Green and Mike Ross on NHL Home Ice, Sutter said he will decide after Wednesday's practice when Brodeur will play. Also, Sutter stressed that it is important that the team makes sure that Brodeur is ready for the playoffs.

We shall see, but one thing is certain. Brodeur will have to prove himself worthy of having a heavy workload. This may bring out the world class goaltender we all know and hopefully NOW.

Who would you like to see come to New Jersey on March 4th?

I'll be hosting an all day long trade deadline show on March 4th and we will have some guest and ask you the callers to call in during the day. I'll have more information on Monday next week.

JP Hoornstra's Ducks blog

After reading JP Hoornstra's article, I am really wondering if Lou Lamoriello is able to pull off a blockbuster deal to get Scott Niedermayer or Chris Pronger. Niedermayer makes the most sense because of the recent Devils reunion tour and fits better salary cap wise.

The Devils are one defenseman away from having a near guaranteed ticket to the Stanley Cup finals. They sure missed Paul Martin when he was out with an upper body injury. Let the rumors begin.
