Quick hits, because I am literally in the midst of a major update to come in the next hour...
*Rumors were flying around last week that Kovalev could be dealt to Pittsburgh for Whitney. I didn't report it, because none of my sources were saying it, I was only hearing internet chatter. However, a source now tells me that Whitney to Montreal is a definite possibility, but I am told Kovalev is NOT involved.
*More and more juice behind the Sabres and Leafs hooking up for a deal that would send Kaberle to Buffalo. I have not yet heard the names the Leafs are interested in, but I was told that the price for Kaberle is significant, which it should be.
*With Doug Weight out for six weeks one source has informed me that the Oilers may be reaching into their past for veteran leadership to the OTHER Islanders Amerian star, Billy Guerin.
* I am hearing more and more talk that the Flyers and Hawks as well as the Flyers and Ducks are talking.
