Working the phones and getting ready to head down to the Wachovia Center for the Flyers and Senators.

the NHL has suspended Plekanec for 2 games...

Talking to several people out there who are saying that they believe Tomas Kaberle will indeed be dealt. Rumors have been circulating for quite sometime now that he may be putting together his list of teams he would play for.

The two teams that look to have the most interest are very close to home in Buffalo and Montreal. However, the Sharks are also in the running which could truly make the Sharks D RIDICULOUSLY strong. I have heard a player the Leafs like here is Milan Michalek, about whom Ryan Garner and I were just singing praises. I think the Sharks would be insane to move Milan Michalek, but for Kaberle and Antropov...Well if you think you have a shot at the Cup, maybe. But what about chemistry?

Again, I just report what's out there. Doesn't mean I would make the trade. The fun in the website is in analyzing what is being discussed, so I try my best to get out of the way on these.

Matthieu Schneider to Montreal (e3). This is an interesting one on many levels and Schneider could help the ailing Habs power play. I could see this happening, but I don't believe for a second that this is the rumored "big deal" that Carbs is sitting on in Montreal.

There are more reports out there that the Flyers have interest in Khabibulin. Again, I don't feel that the Hawks should make this trade, I think if you have a goalie that has won a Cup you play that goalie in the playoffs...However, I can confirm with relative certainty that the Flyers came pretty close to grabbing Khabibulin earlier in the season. The Hawks would definitely get a Flyers goalie back in the deal. I would not deal Biron who although he has stuggled at times has shown an ability to carry this team in last year's playoffs.

In my opinion, based on the info that I have been given, Flyers first focus right now is Pronger or Bouwmeester, more likely the latter.

The Dallas Stars have been discussing players with the Ottawa Senators, and you can add the Stars to the latest of teams that like Antoine Vermette. The Stars also really like Foligno.

There are rumors out there that the Canadiens may be interested in Danny Briere. I don't believe the Flyers are willing to move Briere and I also question if Briere would even waive his NTC to go to Montreal. I believe the Flyers are counting heavily on what Briere brings come playoff time. But the rumor is out there.

There is a huge disconnect in Florida, but I have heard that even though the owner says he is willing to lose Jay Bo for nothing if it means making the playoffs who is to say that the pieces returned for Jay Bo could not only help you make the playoffs this year but in subsequent years as well? And besides what else can an owner say? If he says anything else teams will try and scoop up Jay Bo for less.

In Pittsburgh and NY I continue to hear rumors involving a deal the would send Whitney for Prucha and a pick. I like it for both sides.

I am running out, but I promise you all that I will update the rumor chart and post in this blog or my next blog the players I have updated. I just need to get to the city in order to get to the game and tlak to some important folks prior.

Bill Meltzer and I will do a chat as well...I will post the link shortly.
