On Greedy Mats & Flyer Changes

First, spare us all the goody-goody stuff about Mats Sundin wanting to "win."

If the Big Swede wanted to "win," he would have taken the Rangers' offer - not Vancouver's.

Which team do you think has a better chance to emerge from the Western Conference and have a shot at the Stanley Cup?

This is all such a fraud. It's about the MONEY! It's always about the MONEY!

And as the Big Bopper, err, I mean Glen Sather, would say, "I ain't got nooo money, honey."

And now onto the Flyers ...

So which is the bigger surprise on this rainy, icy, snowy (depends where you live and whether you are the Boy Genius) day in Voorhees?

It is that Marty Biron is knocked out colder than Dexter's next victim with the flu?

Or that Andreas Nodl was sent down to the Phantoms in exchange for tough guy Josh Gratton, who rejoined the Flyers today on Darroll Powe's line with Riley Cote?

Danny Briere told me today he could never recall Biron being this sick. A number of other players were commenting among themselves that they couldn't believe this flu bug was so bad to keep Biron out of practice, let alone games, since Tuesday.

Gratton admitted surprise at being called up. He had some things to say about fighting, and Donald Brashear, who will be visiting the WAC with his Washington Capitals, tomorrow.

"Little bit excited," Gratton smiled, minus his front teeth. "I don't know what the situation is. I'll come up here anddplay my game and see what's up. See how it goes. I guess I made a pretty good impression my first stint here. I just hope to keep going with that."

BTW: Scott Munroe went down to the Phantoms today, presumably, to play for them tonight, then return to the FLyers tomorrow if Biron is no better, which I don't expect.
