Update- Oshie returned at the beginning of the third period after leaving in the second.

Blues rookie center T.J Oshie limped of the ice during the second period after appearing to have re-injured his ankle. Oshie was taken hard into the boards by Coyotes D-man Kurt Sauer and was unable to leave the ice on his own. This was Oshie's second game back in the lineup after missing several weeks with a high ankle sprain. Obviously I'll know more after the game.

Earlier story....

The NHL will honor Blues forward Keith Tkachuk prior to Saturday’s game vs. Phoenix for his recent 1,000 point milestone.

NHL Vice President of Hockey Operations, Jim Gregory, will be in attendance to present Tkachuk with a pretty expensive Tiffany Crystal in recognition of the milestone.

Manny Legace is in goal tonight and will have an opportunity to once again get his game in order. If you’re looking for reasons as to why Legace is struggling please refrain from focusing on any fundamental issues. His struggles are purely in his head and it is up to him to straighten it out.

Lately Legace has lost some playing time to Chris Mason who for the most part has played extremely well during the last five to ten games or so.

I planned on writing a Legace story but have decided to wait until after tonight’s game to really share what I think is going on with the former All-star.

Legace’s agent approached the Blues in the summer about a contract extension but the Blues felt it was best to approach the idea at a later time. Playing without a contract has been a distraction for Legace who at times has shined during his time with St. Louis.

The Blues are in the business of winning hockey games, making players happy is way down the list.

More on this story later…….

Rink Rats!

Phoenix rookie Kyle Turris is living with Coyotes television analyst Darren Peng.

NHLPA Executive Director Paul Kelly is aggressively trying to land the NHL back on ESPN television in the States. NBC will hang on to the NHL through at last next season in large part because they carry the Olympics. ESPN will not take the NHL back unless they get the Stanley Cup finals as part of the deal. As of now NBC has the rights to the Cup finals.

According to Sports Illustrated the Pittsburgh Penguins have the nicest third jersey in the NHL. St. Louis’ third jersey came in second.

Several former Blues phoned Tkachuk to say congratulations including Dallas Drake, Doug Weight, and Billy Guerin.

Blues Clues!

Former tough guy Tony Twist is doing some TV work in Toronto for TSN with the “Off the Record” program.

Andy Murray might choose to insert Brad Winchester into the lineup Saturday night VS. Phoenix.

Congratulations to Brian O'Rourke, who plays for the AAA St. Louis Blues, on recently committing to the University of Nebraska-Omaha (CCHA)

John Ramage, the son of long time NHL D-man Rob Ramage, will play next season for the University of Wisconsin (WCHA). John is currently playing for the U-18 USA National development team in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

John is the 14th AAA Blues midget major player to have received a D-I commitment over the last four and one half seasons.

Enjoy your Saturday!
