I am off to two full-out dinners in the next 5 hours at my family's and my wife's. I will be on the Burke watch with my iphone in my Turkey haze...So much for all that weight I lost in the hospital!

Anyway, on Canadian Thanksgiving I did the one (or more) gift that each Canadian team's fans should be thankful for...Today the American teams...

First off I am thankful for my staff and all of you for coming here and allowing me to do this dream job every day.

Anaheim

Depth in everyway on defense and goal, Getz and Teemu. Getz may be as good as Eric Lindros was at this point in his career, and Teemu may score 40 Power Play Goals...

Atlanta

John Anderson. It's going to take time, but you can start to see it happening. There are moments.

Boston

Two Sleeping Giant American Hockey Cities are back in a HUGE way. The Bruins need to be thankful for Timmy T.

Buffalo

Speed and Millertime. The Sabres will make some moves...Look for Afinogenov to Colorado (e3)

Carolina

The return of Ward and the emergence of castaways Pitkanen and Ruutu into the stars that they are.

Chicago

The other sleeping Giant in America. Where to start. Be thankful for the Magic Ping Pong Ball that landed #88. Also be thankful for Tallon and Dudley. You are in really great hands.

Colorado

Getting your injuries out of the way! The re-birth of Hedjuk is a biggie and the long-term possibilities of Stastny.

Columbus

Hitch. He is methodical but he will find you a way to the playoffs. Also, I know he has struggled but remember that in the end Nash will be Nash.

Dallas

Last night's game. It was the kind of game that you can build on.

Detroit

The Well Oiled Machine that can let Hossa in and truly get better. I know that sounds silly but how often we see a star player go to a team like this and it not work?

Florida

A defense that will be in place for a decade (except Jay Bo) that is young and solid...Oh, and Booth...Really be thankful for Booth. He will be amazing.

LA

The best rookie d-man to come into the NHL in YEARS. Plus a team that rarely gets outworked in a wicked conference in which to rebuild!

Minnesota

A system that allows you to be dominant without your top player...And of course Burns...

Nashville

One of the greatest atmospheres in hockey and a team that has been composed of players by a stable front office. Also be VERY thankful for Mr. Ellis!

New Jersey

Lou's competitiveness. You can be assured that the team will always fight and find a way. And of course the best offensive star the Devils have ever had. Parise.

NY Islanders

A progressive coach and solid leadership from Guerin and Weight. And of course Joey McDonald's rise to fame.

NY Rangers

Dubinsky and Zherdev...The future opens up several options. But on Broadway the one thing that you must thank the gods for is Lundqvist.

Philadelphia

Jeff Friggin Carter and Mike Richards. Enough said.

Phoenix

Building the right way with patience. The Yotes are going to be a force for a decade if they keep this course...

Pittsburgh

87, 71, 11...Seriously, it's just not fair to the rest of us!

San Jose

Serious Cup Dreams...For real.

St. Louis

An offense that can swarm you, youth that will make you the toughest team to play in the West in a few short years, and the endless talents of Tkachuk.

Tampa

Talent always rises and an ownership that deserves far better press clippings than they get. All you can ask for is an owner that hates to lose as much as you do.

Washington

The Passion of Ovechkin. It is simply contagious. He is a gift from above to all of us and you get to watch him each and every night.
