Just talked to a source who confirmed to me what quite a few folks have been speculating on and that is the Wild will not go into this season with a tenuous situation with Gaborik.

"No distractions," the source said.

So if no extension can be reached in the near future who is interested?

"Pretty much what you've been writing," the source said, "Buffalo, Edmonton, Vancouver and a few more teams that are expected to get involved."

I have heard that Washington may be one of those teams.

I will be back before 2pm with the latest on Sundin and McCabe, as well as a report on Bouwmeester and a possible lead I am following regarding Edmonton and Montreal.
