Exchanged notes with a team that has interest and they were completely unaware of Boyle refusing to waive his NTC...

also Jason Smith may be closing in on a deal that would find him a Buffalo Sabre. following this one as well as another Flyers rumour involving a d-man NOT named Boyle...

That being said I continue to hear that Boyle is on the radar of the Flyer, Sens and Sharks

from earlier...

This from Damian Cristodaro's Blog last night gives some great perspective and look further into why it is tough for players to be put into this spot...yet it clearly shows that Boyle may not stick around if the Lightning really don't want him to.

"There are several reasons. The defenseman is recently married to Amber Esposito of Indian Rocks Beach, and the couple is expecting a child in late November. "And her family is here and friends," Boyle said. Mostly, though, he wants to stay in Tampa because he loves the Lightning.

"It's not always about the money all the time," said Boyle, whose six-year, $40-million deal will pay a relatively reasonable $6.667-million annually. "I'm a pretty loyal guy. I'm a Tampa guy. That's who helped me turn my career around and gave me a chance. This is where I want to be. If I'm not there, it's not because I don't want to be.......

.....He also said that right now, he has no intention of waiving his no-trade clause. Having said that, he also said he understands this situation is not personal.

"I'm looking at every different angle, but mainly, absolutely, business," he said. "If a trade makes sense, I completely understand, and I have no problem with that. But on the other hand, if it doesn't make sense, then I do have a problem with that."

So what I am told is happening is that Dan is going to go where he wants to go to...

from EVEN earlier...

Talking to sources late last night and this morning I have received confirmation that the Oilers have indeed had discussions with Jaromir Jagr. I am very certain that this is true. Usually rumours are rumours..this appears to be 100% fact

Sources are telling me that the deal being discussed would be a one-year deal, and leave open the strong possibility that Hossa could be signed long-term next summer.

Now I also firmly believe that Jagr and the Pens could resume talks today...

also a source in California told me to watch for a team with " very low salary to come in over the weekend and put a mega one-year deal together for Jagr...a team that no one has metioned."

Nashville?

Also hearing that the Canadiens and Leafs are both in on Jason Williams.

As for Boyle...I am sticking to my story that a deal is imminent, and I believe the teams to be involved are the same as I said earlier..Montreal, Philly, Ottawa, Buffalo, San Jose...

1:15pm Boyle has been asked to waive his NTC (e4)

Good for the Leafs to get Grabovski...We had some good talk on that possibility around here a couple weeks back.

more to come...
