Just spoke to Carlos Sosa, the agent for Darcy Tucker who tells me the Maple Leafs have bought out Tucker's contract.

Tucker signed a 4 year $12 million extension with Toronto in February of 2007. Basically after the buyout Tucker signed a 1 yr. deal worth $9 million deal. Tucker will always keep his family home in Toronto.

Things could become even more interesting with the Chicago Blackhawks organization.

Sources have indicated to me that NHL legend Scotty Bowman has been offered a position with the Blackhawks in which Bowman would oversee everything regarding hockey operations.

His son Stan (named after the Stanley Cup) is currently the Assistant General Manager, Hockey Operations with the club.

Word is Bowman is expected to accept the job.

This would be huge news!

Word is current Chicago GM Dale Tallon is safe and Bowman would become his boss.

Bowman has always worked with NHL clubs who are stocked, loaded, and ready to compete for a Cup. Chicago has some tremendous pieces in place, but they still have a little way to go.

Stay Tuned……

Former Grand Rapids Head Coach Mike Stothers name has surfaced as a possible next Head Coach of the LA Kings.

Mike Johnston remains a candidate.

Brad Mccrimmon may join Mike Babcock’s coaching staff in Detroit.

Joel Quenneville was offered the assistant job in Detroit, but turned down the offer.

Curt Fraser, who has been working with the Belarus National program, is a candidate to take over in Grand Rapids.

Toronto has placed Kyle Wellwood and goaltender Andrew Raycroft on waivers.

If both clear Raycroft is expected to be bought out.

Blues Clues!

Keith Tkachuck has offered fourth overall pick Alex Pietrangelo to live at his house if he makes the Blues this upcoming season.

Erik Johnson is expected to once again live with Hall of Famer Al MacInnis.

David Perron has lost nearly four percent body fat since the end of last summer and will likely play at 195 this coming season compared to 185 a year ago.

Andy Murray is the featured speaker tonight at the Blues development camp.

More to come,
