Some quick rumours before heading to the Big House.
Bouwmeester
Sources are telling me that it is at least a two horse race for Jay Bouwmeester.
According to on source, "He is a top 2. No doubt that. And most of us are anticipating that more than two teams will line-up if the decision comes down from Florida to move him. At this point it will continue to escalate."
The Panthers are truly not going to let Jay go for too little (2 good draft picks, 2 players and a goalie prospect is what I heard) and still may indeed sign him long-term. I am very curious with Rumours swirling that Shea Weber may be signing soon and I would think his deal could be the benchmark for many of the unsigned D out there included Bouwmeester.
Demitra
Meanwhile, in Montreal I am hearing there is strong interest in Demitra. Of course rumours swirled last week that Demitra was in Vancouver and the Canucks are in dire need of scoring. Demitra would be a great fit in either situation.
Spezza
According to another source the Hawks and Sharks have interest in Jason Spezza. No word yet on what either teams may put forth for Spezza. I am of the belief that Spezza is a diamond in the rough but needs a new start...
