It has been for a while. After hearing what happened at yesterday’s practice, my fears about this team seem to be coming true. We have a practice coach and a gameday coach that are not on the same page. I had a friend who I play hockey with who was lucky enough to get to Thrashers practice yesterday. Both Waddell and McCrimmon were there and this was my friend’s account of what happened. After skating for about an hour, they began to scrimmage. In the middle of the scrimmage, McCrimmon yelled, took his stick and broke it against the glass, kicked it at the team and began ripping into them about how there was no intensity out there. Dropped enough f bombs to make a sailor blush and kicked them off the ice. I applaud him for that.

So Waddell being at practice was interviewed about what happened at practice, and his initial response was that it was a “great” practice. What? If that was the way the beast acts after a great practice, I’d hate to see him after a bad one. If this ownership is as dedicated as they said they were in their STH please renew letter that was sent out a couple days ago (by the way not renewing still) , they should let the GM head back to his office, and give the guy a chance for the remainder of the season.

Now mathematically we are still in it. It is obvious though at best we are a long shot. A loss tonight to Carolina would end this dream/nightmare of a season to me. I hate losing to Carolina, though. So a win tonight will definitely be something I’d like to see. So hear is hoping Beast’s tirade hit home, and that when I get to the arena DW is back in the GM’s booth.

I will see you in Blueland…
