SUNDIN HEADING FOR ANOTHER PRIMARY COLOR?

Sundin to Detroit? Everywhere you look today you will see this possibility bantered about since the two teams play today and Lidstrom came out yesterday with huge amounts of praise and hope for the possibility of Mats in RED and White (tell me that ISN'T almost impossible to picture.)

I really believe it is a whole lot about nothing as it goes completely against the Holland way of doing things to trade a away the kinds of players needed to make this happen. I, and many others I talk to are of that mindset.

Brad Stuart to Detroit is growing more and more likely by the day, and that is the kind of deal I see Detroit making.

In the end I am sticking with Vancouver as my odds on favorite, with Calgary close behind...Dallas, Philly, and San Jose as longshots.

TAMPA IN FLUX

The Tampa Bay situation has been a fascinating one to say the least...

There are once again, according to my sources, SERIOUS issues with the possible sale, and that is leaving Jay Feaster with his hands tied as to any movement when it comes to the big three. In both scenarios currently, if the company sells or doesn't sell to the new owner it looks like the big three are staying put through this trade deadline.

The new prospective owner wants to retain the big three and the current owner does as well in case this sale falls through so he can retain those assets for a possible NEW buyer.

As for Boyle, although there are high hopes for his possible re-signing, the whole situation is EXTREMELY up in the air.

Another Opinion on Hossa to Montreal

Talking to another source very close to Hossa has led to a completely different side of this story....WELCOME TO THE TRADE DEADLINE ROLLER COASTER

According to this source although there is a definite fit with Atlanta trading Hossa to Montreal, as of now the two sides have had zero discussions. I tend to believe that this is the case, but as is my job, I report RUMOURS. This is fascinating and another example of how the lack of movement has gotten even some of the greatest sources off track. It is hard to get a rumour to e4 status, and it is extremely rare to see it have NO truth. That means a whole lot of folks around the situation are hearing and spreading the wrong information. BUT it happens. And it may have happened with Hossa and the Habs.

I will just continue to post all that I am hearing on this situation and attempt to do my best to give you my opinions. At the end of the day I am not involved in the actual deals, so all I can do is tell you what I hear.

Remember RUMOURS are RUMOURS. I only bring this up because this time of year we get a ton of new people to the site.

I recommend all new readers read the FAQ section of the site for explanation of the e-system and what we do around here.
