The Anaheim Ducks and Troy Terry not only avoided arbitration, but made Terry the highest-paid player on the Ducks roster Wednesday, with the sides agreeing to a staggering seven-year, $49 million contract ($7 million average annual value) through 2030.

“We are very pleased to be able to come to an agreement,” Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek said in a statement confirming the extension. “Troy is a major part of our team as a character player and leader, and we look forward to seeing him continue his ascent to being one of the league’s top players.”

In action for 70 games last year, the 25-year-old Terry recorded a career-high in assists (38) and average time on ice (19:22 per game) en route to his second All-Star Game appearance in as many seasons.

Overall, the Colorado-born winger has recorded 75 goals and 176 points in 274 games with Anaheim since the 2017-18 season.

Originally taken with the No. 148 overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Terry has been a total steal for the club, as he is the 26th-highest scoring member of that year's undeniably stacked draft class.
