Hello strangers!!

So...it's been a while since I wrote a blog and I apologize. I've been busy traveling and working on other projects and there just never seems to be enough time to blog, but I'm going to make a serious effort to rectify that and write more often. So...to catch you up...

Here's the links to the most recent episodes of the College Hockey Spotlight

#8 - Michigan/ Matt Rust

#9 - Alabama-Huntsville/ Ryan Burkholder

Tomorrow night, I'll have Episode #10 for you featuring an interview with Brett Hextall from the University of North Dakota...

On to other fun topics...my Former College Hockey fantasy team!

My boys are doing ok...having trouble being consistent, but I've managed to put together my first winning streak of the season and I look to keep on that path for as long as possible.

Many of you have emailed asking why I stopped listing my roster and my answer is quite simple....PEOPLE KEEP STEALING MY HIDDEN GEMS!!!!

It's true that my roster limitations were self-inflicted, but that's exactly why I need to make sure my sleeper picks are just that....MINE! With so many other guys to choose from, pick someone else!

I've also gotten a lot of emails asking about various prospects so here's a short run through of the RedHawks and Wolverines that made an impression last weekend:

Justin Vaive - Anahiem: Love him...he uses his 6-6, 218 lbs frame to his advantage offering up open ice hits as well as a few slams into the boards every chance he gets. He's not a goal scorer, but he does help generate offensive opportunities by eliminating guys from the play and creating more room for his linemates to work.

Tommy Wingels - San Jose: This guy's got it all...He's big. He's strong. He's fast. He's got great vision, works hard along the boards, crashes the net and, from what I hear, is a strong leader in the locker room as team captain. I expected all of that when I saw him, but was most impressed with his speed.

Chris Brown - Phoenix: Love him to bits too...what I love most though, is that he plays RIGHT on the edge, being a strong physical presence that can get under your skin without crossing the line that gets him in trouble. He hits pretty much anything that moves, is mobile and has an offensive flair.

Chris Summers - Phoenix: He's just a great all-around player...In a terrible weekend for Michigan, he was one of VERY few bright spots. Solid on the power play, PK and even strength, positionally sound and very aggressive. Just like Wingels, I hear excellent things about his leadership.

This past weekend, I traveled to Alabama-Huntsville to see for myself what was going on with this program. Many people seem to think that these are the last days of the Chargers, but you wouldn't be able to tell that by talking to anyone close to the situation. As a team without a conference next year, they've already set 30 games against great programs like Michigan State, Wisconsin and Colorado College. They'd like to add two more series - one home and one away - to bring their total to 34 and fully expect to be able to do that should their NCAA exemption come through. Essentially what that means is because they're independent and if this exemption is approved, other teams won't have to count games against UAH against their 34 game regular season limit, which would open up many more options for them to work with. More on this in the next episode of the College Hockey Spotlight.

That's all I've got time for right now, but I promise to be back sooner rather than later with more tidbits from the road...

If you have specific questions, email me!!

Talk soon!
