Three Stars this week, Niemi, Hedberg, and Hemsky...
Interesting how all the three of these players have been in trade rumors on this site over the last year. Niemi was constantly discussed this summer, while Hedberg and Hemsky are being discussed currently by more than a few teams.
* Rumors abound today that Colorado may have Paul Stastny in play, possibly to Toronto or LA. My sources are saying they don't see anything to this. I think it is important to realize there were circumstances beyond hockey that Stewart and Anderson were moved. Stastny is a different player. He is the heart and soul of this franchise, and arguably one of the most intelligent hockey players out there. The hockey sense possessed by Paul Stastny is unreal. I will continue to track this, but right now I would say this rumor is more a result of the shocking trade from this weekend, with teams inquiring about the possibility.
* The Leafs are more intrigued by Stephen Weiss right now.
*Darren Dreger is reporting the Pens and Stars may be talking major deal with Goligoski possibly heading to Dallas for James Neal. Checking on this deal I do believe there is something here. Not saying it happens, but both teams are desperate to make something happen.
*Souray has cleared waivers, while Nic Hagman has been placed on waivers by Calgary. I have heard the Preds may have interest in Hagman.
