This Morning's Rumor Quick Hits...

* Expect the Preds to trade Dan Hamhuis' rights at the draft.

* According to multiple sources, the Penguins are targeting Anton Volchenkov as their main goal and have all but officially decided to move away from Sergei Gonchar. (e4)

* Sergei Gonchar meanwhile is getting a ton of interest from Ottawa and Washington (e3), Montreal (e2), and NY Islanders (e1)

* Kovalchuk may soon find out he has more optioned than was thought if he is willing to go 3-5 years. By the way, I do expect to see more bigger name guys taking more money for shorter term. The Devils are being very aggressive and may attempt to get in on Alexander Semin to entice Ilya to stick around.

*Flyers Goaltending> I am hearing Dan Ellis and Corey Schneider are the top candidates for the job. The Flyers want to go young and get a guy they can can develop over time...

*Adam Burish is among a group of guys I call "Super Tier 2 Targets." This is a very big category this year and is made up of players who may have as many as ten teams interested in them because they are going to be able to be had for under 2 Million, but are very worth the investment. There is great irony in the statements Burish made about wanting to punch Pronger out. He may get his chance in training camp, as the Flyers are right at the top of the list of teams who are in the Burish sweepstakes. As are the LA Kings, Nashville Preds, NY Islanders, and Buffalo Sabres...
