I think he is saying the Flyers would trade TK if they became available. Still would need some Howie-esque cap wizardry to make it work with the younger players coming off rookie deals... and then when MM time is to get paid it gets more complicated.

Knowing how the Canes operate, heavy in analytics and a focus on managing the cap and drafting and developing versus how the Flyers operate. Is a major clash in my view. With the Flyers not remotely close to contending, I wonder why he would want to come here.

Didn’t you know that what he thinks the flyers should do and what he would do are two distinctly different things? lol

If only we all talked that way lol!!

He refuses to answer my question because his hands are covered in cookie crumbs.

You're wrong on both counts. Just as you were wrong in claiming that I was not aware of Michkov's talent level. I refuse to answer because you have been and are acting like an bumhole. Like I said, if you lose the attitude and the condescension, then we can have a conversation. You won't though because that's easier for you rather than what the outcome will be from the other.

I'm seeing many out there saying UTAH will be open for business with all of their cap space and multiple draft picks. Looking to get good fast for their new City.

43 million in cap space.

3 2024 2nd round picks
4 2025 2nd round picks
3 2026 2nd round picks

Some pretty good prospects like Simashev, But, Geekie, Lamoureax

The flyers flat out have to trade konecny. If they don’t, it’s malpractice

He led the team in PP points...god or bad...doesn't matter...he led the team. More PP points than TK, Farabee, Foerster, and all of them.

Your comment on it doesn't say much....it says he outperformed TK, Tippett and crew on the PP in less games.

hopefully the Edmonton GM thinks the same way you do.

Yes, TK is part of the trade to get Draisaitl. By the time Michkov needs to get paid will be 3 years from this season, and by then the cap will go up even more. Don't worry, it will all work out, trust me

Because our top line will be Draisaitl - Michkov - Marner!

Seriously though, if the Canes once again fall short, which I think they will, aren't we overrating Brindy a bit?

This is the real world, not fantasy land.

Brind'Amour is one of the top 5 coaches in the NHL today.

Based on what? That he has had good teams that he was not able to get over the hump?

It won’t. See my post from yesterday.

And if it did by some miracle the Puppet GM will be on it if it is put on his schedule by the real GM.

See, this where I disagree with you. If Edmonton loses Draisaitl given their window is open right now, they are going to want to replace his production. TK + Frost does that. Plus, Frost playing on Edmonton means he can produce more than he has with the Flyers. And Edmonton is getting a 1st round pick also which as you know is valuable across the league. If they want a defenseman instead, the Flyers have options. With Toronto, sure they want to replace the production of Marner but they also lack leadership and grit. Laughton + Farabee not only replace Marner's production, they also provide the leadership and grit Toronto is looking for. Again if they want defense versus a pick the Flyers have assets there to offer. I think the Flyers have the assets to make this happen. Certainly they have more assets than say, a team like the Bruins.

Vague response. What about his performance makes him a top coach in the league? The only performance that matters is if a coach can take a good team as far as they can go. Is Brindy doing that? Would a coach like Torts or Lappy get more out of this canes team?

The first thing that you don't understand is that the first asset either team is going to ask for is Michkov. So regardless of which trade you want to start with, it starts with Michkov, Konecny and a 1st round pick. By then, even if you're able to make one deal, you can't make the other. Your scenario is fantasy.

You're overrating grit and leadership. Any contending team would like to have a player like Laughton as a bottom 6 player but not as a major part of the return for trading an elite player.

He consistently has his team as one of the top possession, offensive and defensive teams in the league and at contender status every season. Despite the lack of true superstar players. They have Aho who is a really good player. Svechkikov has not been able to stay healthy. They have plenty of good players. Guentzel should help but they need to keep him moving forward. They always seem to be one player short. Despite, that, Brind'Amour always has them in contention.
