Between how the Penguins players and media feel, Frank Seravalli is probably the least likely guy to have a Penguins scoop and is probably one of the most disliked media members. Doubt anything he says is true unless others are saying it.

Am I the only one that things Kevin Weekes looks kinda dumb? I like him generally, but he tweeted a picture of a Pittsburgh bridge the other day and then tweeted today, after it was announced that Rierden was fired, that was the news he was hinting at when he made the original tweet.

He essentially sent a pointless tweet just to report the news second after the organization announced it. If you have a scoop, report it.

"Fall Guy" usually implies that the guy who got fired didnt deserve it... Reirdon definitely deserved it.

The only thing about this firing announcement that upsets me is that it likely means he is the only one from the staff being shown the door... I'd like at least Sully to be joining him out the door.

“At least” usually implies there’s a bigger move you’d rather see. There isn’t a bigger move in coaching changes than firing the literal head coach.

Only a handful of comments because it was such an obvious move. Zero defense of the units he was in charge of.

Sully of course should have gone too, but most of us knew he wouldn't.

Man I feel like I was on an island saying it would have been a great idea to try to buy low on Boeser. I’d love to have this version of him. Maybe it’s unsustainable but he’s looked great all season

So tell me why a coach that none of you like isn't getting fired? He got pics of the owners wife or something?

It depends on what theory you believe:

1. Sullivan is a Boston guy and our owners are Boston men. The extension he signed was reportedly done directly with the owners and outside of Hextall

2. The star players dont want to play for another coach at this point in their careers

3. Mgmt thinks he's doing a good job but it was Hextall that caused this damage.

4. No one wants to get rid of him because they dont think there is a better option.

Im sure there are others as well.

I personally think 1 is way overplayed. FSG has been around the block for a very long time and had a lot of success. They aren’t going to hang onto a coach because he’s from the same home town.

Pretty much a joke. Anything other than Mike Sullivan leaving the organization is a joke. A PP doesn’t look that bad for 82 games because of a coach. No real accountability. Craig Berube is waiting for a phone call.

Craig berube? You think this country club of penguin players are going to listen to him? Didn't they fire him in st louis or something? I like the idea but that's not going to happen. You'd see dan bylsma and mustache man before berube.

We'll trade you Torts for Sulli? Oh, and we'll throw in Rocky Thompson as your new PP coach!

Torts is the best coach in the NHL. I’d gladly trade you.

Here's Sulivan's head coaching record, Boston and Pittsburgh:
https://www.hockey-refere...m/coaches/sullimi01c.html

2 Stanley Cups.
1 Second Round Loss
4 First Round Losses.
3 Did not make playoffs.

Sullivan does not improve teams, be it playoffs or regular season. His loan exception was the bubble year where he did win his one and only division title.

I've seen multiple different comments from different teams about wanting Bruce Boudreau. I don't understand everyone's obsession with him at this point. He is almost 70 years old and hasn't won a playoff round in 10 years.

I guess they are guilty by association but neither John Henry or Tom Werner are from Boston.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on cap friendly (I know) about us and the kings being good trade partners. I think PLD as 2nd line center and moving Geno to wing might be a great idea.

Additionally, I’m more than happy with moving on with Jarry, who would be the other piece in the deal.

I've always thought Malkin should move to Center for both his and the team's benefit. So I agree with your idea on finding a 2nd line center. But absolutely no on PLD unless someone is eating salary that isnt us and/or we are getting something to take him on.

No way I'm going on the hook for a guy who has never been over 65 points in a season and is making $8.5M until 2031.

Most people don’t like honesty and integrity, they would rather be told everything is great, play with speed, just play.
