I would not give much for either of these two players. They are just not good enough or healthy enough to warrant the salary cap hit.

Flyers need to acquire Chyckrun! It’s the perfect fit the perfect play! The perfect situation.

However, the above is only true if the deal is RR for JC straight up. Come on Ottawa you know RR is that covered top RHD who’s rough tough and certainly worth a 14th overall pick to Chuck Fletcher. If that’s the trade I say this entire board should be all in.

Otherwise: NO THANK YOU

Chychrun's value is a lot higher

You might have been able to make a case for Chabot 6-7 months ago but his play significantly increased in the final third of the season after recovering fully from injury.

In late Feb Chabot scored in 3 games straight (5 points total) - what's most impressive it was against FLA, DAL, and VGK - all going really strong into the playoffs.

After recovering from injury and playing under Martin, in his final 20 games he had 7 goals, 14 points.

Chychrun did not have a good season, didn't fit in. Despite that, I honestly think him finish playing all 82 games is a bigger thing. He can easily score 15-20 goals on a playoff team. He needs to go somewhere else and sign long term

Trocheck was born in Pittsburgh. Maybe he wants to play in his home state. That takes care of 1C.

As a Sens season ticket holder this seems like it was written by a delusional horny chatGPT submission. Nobody wants Chabbots contract, and DJ Smith ran him into the ground so now his body is broken. And Chychrun is a wonderful minus defenseman. Exactly what Philly isn't looking for.

But sure. The Sens will give you both or either for some 4th round picks and a well stocked soda machine. Take Brannstrom too. For free.

Both Chabot and Chychrun are substantially better than York as 1LD.

Chabot has never come close to playing a full season in his entire NHL career, has he?

York as of now, is not a first pairing NHL defenseman in the NHL. He might be serviceable to play as a partner to a legit #1 on a top pairing but on his own merit. He is not a first pair defenseman.

Speaking of people wanting to be the man, Leon Draisaitl is just over 13 months away from UFA. Wonder what he signs this July. Last big contract of his career, got to think conversation starts at 12.5M but likely between MacKinnon's 11.6 and Matthews 13.25.

Connor McDavid is eligible to resign extension next July. Got to think he will get somewhere between 14-15M but he also turns 30 6 months before his new contract kicks in

It's a fair point for sure

He also has averaged 52 points per 82 games since his rookie season.

If Philly is kicking tires on time-travelling Chychrun, I wonder if they are also calling about Theodore. Yesterday that was an E3 trade rumour. Vegas could use a center like Laughton to replace Marchessault. Philly would need to add more though. Maybe Booby Brink.

It’s like the summer of Kimmo, Hartnell, and Briere all over again. What could go wrong? I’m sure they’ll flip the script over the offseason just like that time.

Kimmo really tied the room together.

No underlying concerns with this crew. No sir.

We got a Richards and Carter in the system ready to go, right? Wait, lemme check.

Hmmm.

Jake Sanderson has clearly established himself as the Sens #1 Dman.

Chabot and Chychrun are #2 and #3 on the depth chart but they are far too much alike to remain together on the current roster. There is simply not enough ice time for all three. Each has spent their entire careers playing as #1 on whatever team they played for.

Folks believe that Kleven and Guenette are ready to move up from AHL.

I think it is Chychrun that gets moved.

And, I think he is headed back to the Wester conference. Utah has incredible depth when it comes to picks and prospects. Watch for them to step up on Chychrun.

There is clearly enough ice time for 3 top defenseman on any team. All 3 averaged 22 minutes or better this past season. With Zub averaging 21. They may choose to move one but it won't be because there is not enough ice time for all 3. That's simply not correct.

Drai is an interesting case. I'd imagine right now he is focused on trying to advance past Vancouver. No clue on what he is going to do. Easy answer I guess if they make the final I imagine he stays on board.

My stated position is:

- Chychrun has more value at the TDL this year
- you only trade JC if you get back what you need (2nd line LW, goaltender or ESPECIALLY 2nd pairing natural RD)
- you only trade JC if you get back what you spent on him.
- nothing wrong with have 3 good LD...so long as you properly address the RD issue with a UFA

Philly does have a couple of players that clearly interests the Sens in Koneckny or Laughton but they are both centers, so....

For arguments sake:
Chrychrun plus Kastelick plus Sokolov

for
Konecky and O. Bonk

if you want to get rid of RR...that would involve taking back a bad contract from us. Can I interest you in a Korposalio, perhaps?

They already have a bad contract goalie in Petersen. No way they take Korpisalo.

Laughton has played a lot of wing as a Flyer and he's better on the wing than at center in my opinion. Konecny has never played center. He is strictly a winger.
