Yes bit it addresses another need that is lacking size and physicality. That has to be address this off-season more physical play and going to the dirty areas not enough this past season. Joshua domi debrusk up front on the back I don't know who would available maybe Chris Tanev beyond that is question mark.
- Scott1977

Tanev will be 35 next season and is a walking IR. Hard pass on him.

I like Pesce, a RS Dman with good size and good defensively. But at 29 yrs old how many yrs you wanna give him, LA?....... Jones and Murphy will be around for at least 2 more yrs IIRC and with Vlasic and probably KK penciled in, and probably Kaiser too, that's 5 spots with DelMastro and Allan to get looks starting next yr as 1st callups.
- Mr Ricochet

Do you expect Murphy to play more than 1/2 the games? Anyways KD is good at the 2 year overpay contracts, 2 years would be good.

i don't see KD making moves/internal growth that gives the Hawks an additional 30 points to be 15 points behind a wild card spot
- LAHawk

KD needs to stick to his plan of icing a team that plays fast and not get stuck in between - "we're small but we make up for it by being slow."

First shift of the game and D!ckinson jumps in and finishes a beauty entry and puck movement to make it 1-zip London. .... Parekh is dressed. He just hit the goal post!
- Mr Ricochet

Sennecke triple double for Oshawa, 2 G, 2 SOG, 2 PIM. Not watching but seems like a good game.

Edit: and an assist.

Nice work here, Chunk. Puts names to possible spots and shows that indeed competition for what will be few NHL spots is here. A new phase of the rebuild. ..... It gets funner for the fan.

I think Slaggert is an NHL player. Looks like a lesser Hagel. Also think Anderson is an NHLer too. Like Slaggert a lotta IQ and it shows in his fancies. IIRC he had the best corsi on the squad. Both guys have good reads and make plays in all 3 zones but won't be guys leaned on for offense........ Not saying the AHL isn't a good move for those two next yr only that IMO they will be NHL players.

And if I'm correct in DelMastro's troubling skating in his 2 game NHL look goys like Phillips and Allan will pass him on the depth chart. I still believe Phillips will be and NHLer with the Hawks or not.

- Mr Ricochet

Considering how steady both were, I’d be surprised if Nazar and Slaggert don’t start in the bigs, but if this staff has shown us anything it’s that they don’t have any issue putting guys in Rockford for a while to get their minds right. The nice part is that Rockford seems able to actually get these kids moving in the right direction.

Rockford evens up the series tonight, 5-1. EDM with his first playoff marker tying the game at 1. Hardman with two goals. Kaiser was the WB for both PP goals.

Sorry. Commesso. He let in the first goal of the game on a slapper from the right side. Kind of unlucky. Screened by his own guy a bit (Sanford). Overall, he looked pretty strong (27 of 28) in his first playoff start.

Maybe this is just recency bias, or the fact that one guy has a cup and the other doesn't, but I like Eichel's game a lot more than McDavid's. You certainly cannot compare the two on offense, but Eichel just has a really solid overall game.

Also, Englund seems to have found a home as a solid 3rd pair in LA. Pretty smart positioning and even jumps into the play a bit.

Sennecke Has had a really good playoff. He’s big, can skate, battles hard and he may be there with Tampa’s pick.

This comment about England hopefully is going to be an echoe for one of the CURRENT Blackhawk prospects

Which one …..well different prospect depending upon what blogger replies in this thread. I believe Chuck responded best when I was making a case for a prospect on defense; Chuck said we just have to wait and see how it plays out (paraphrasing)

So whether you think Del Mastro can become a third pair guy like England or if you are posturing for Phillips

We will find out probably next season one or another steps up and the other doesn’t

I had hoped the past couple years that Murphy would be jettisoned either to move up in the draft order (exchanging picks) or flat out for a third or fourth round.

Yes maybe he plays better hereafter but if I were another GM I wouldn’t pay much for the often injured adequate/slow skater even if Murphy’s contract is not burdensome.

DeBrusk and TT would OK to add.

Garland from VAN might work - VAN won't pay you to take hime but shouldn't cost much. Kakko has been up and down but might be interesting.

Of course the Player Who Cannot Return still seems like a good fit to me.

Garland would be a very good pickup and he has 2 years left on his deal. I doubt Vancouver trades Garland, but he played on a line with Joshua this year and he’d be a good consolation prize.

The r/sabres subreddit loves him. Which means the org is probably keen on moving him.

He has one more year on his ELC though. What would get that done? I'd think Buffalo would be more interested in a forward than more draft picks?

- fattybeef

My guess is it would start with the TB pick but my guess is Adams is looking for an NHL player in return. They're still flush in their system and you would think Adams will start pushing some chips into the middle to at the very least make the playoffs.

Probably not good trade partners with BUF but a Quinn would/should be a target for KD.

Garland was a reasonable target last offseason that IIRC a few on this site were advocating for. I know I was..... He'd still fit for next yr IMO but as much as I've always liked Garland and his style of play would like to see the organIzation aim a bit higher if they're only gonna add 1 or 2 UFA's.

Let's go 'Hawks. Hoping all of Murphy, Hall and AA stay healthy all year in the season coming up.
LA knocks off the Oil.
Leafs could knot their series with Bruins tonight, I did not have that on my bingo card.

The West will be tough the next few years.

Avs with McKinnon, Nischikin, Rantanen, and Makar. Then there's Landeskog if he returns healthy.

Knights continually re-tool and always ice a very good team.

Dallas has a good core and up and coming forwards in Johnson and Stankoven.

Edmonton with McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman and Bouchard may not have what it takes to win a Cup but they are always in the mix for a playoff spot..

Kings have a good team. They fell short this year, but their GM will continue to improve the team.

Have the Canucks turned the corner or are they a one year wonder?

Winnipeg ran into the Colorado buzz saw in the 1st round. Can they put up 100+ points next year or are they destined for a decline. They need to keep icinng a good team to keep the fans coming out in that small market.

Maybe by the time the Hawks are a playoff contender some of the above will be on the decline.

I'm impressed that the Stars finally figured out we need to keep our defenseman between the LVGK forwards and our own goalie, well except for a huge save by Otti last night in the 3rd, bad habits during the regular season are hard to break.

The Hawks will need a veteran 7th d-man next season and I agree that Tanev in not likely the answer. I also hope that KD stays away from Tinordi and Megna too.

It looks like the Tampa pick will be #20 with the Islanders out and Vegas all but eliminated.

I don't think we need to sign one RD, we need to sign 2.

So if KD is serious about winning more games as a GM i would bring in 2 RD vets to have experienced solid vets playing alongside my green LD.

I would also sign at least 4 good hockey forwards. There are so many injuries on this team and I agree, all the the UFA are not resigned, the only RFA forward that would get a contract from me would be Reichel.
