I was just going to say "this is something there is no way GG would ever do" but then I remember he did beat the Canes in 2022.
Love that Lavy is doing this though, he does seem to always be prepared. Luckily they gave themselves plenty of time to do so. Definitely need to be ready for not only man on man, but also the ultra-aggressive penalty killing - SkjeiStadium
Powerplay is vastly improved from previous years too.
Rod has changed the approach on offense. No more blasting away from the point all year long looking for tips and deflections. They make a lot of plays from behind/beside the net now.

That's somewhat disappointing to hear because I feel the rangers biggest strength on the PK is pressuring the blue line and creating turnovers, both on zone entries and with in-zone setup. Kreider and Mika specifically create a lot of offense shorthanded by being aggressive at the points. That doesn't work as well if the play is being controlled along the goal line.
What would you say are the Canes weak points on both PK/PP that teams have been successful at against them? With the best PK and 2nd best PP I get there probably aren't many... |

Net front. Canes like to pressure the puck all over the ice so they will often forget about the guy standing in front of the net.
On the PP, they sometimes get lazy. They'll pass and pass endlessly and try to get you to chase them. If you don't chase them, they won't move.

Interesting, thanks. Sounds like Kreider could eat on the PP being the net front specialist he is.
They'll have to be disciplined on the PK because like I said they like to pressure also. The rangers fall into that same laziness on the PP sometimes where they aren't moving their feet enough |

It's one thing where I think the Isles were able to get some damage done. They're not exactly a creative bunch so they just went straight at the net and when they did, the Canes struggled. They've always struggled to defend Kreider.
Get to the middle of the ice with the puck. If Orlov/Chatfield/Pesce aren't out there, nobody is going to put you on your ass. |

I don’t know how Lou has a job. That team is so boring |

I don't think his job is necessarily to make sure anyone is entertained. But he should probably be relieved of his job now and given a year's supply of Depends as a parting gift |

Not after they trade for Marner at the draft. Then they will be slightly less boring and still always lose in the first round |

Can't see Marner waiving from the Leafs to go to Long Island to play for Lou. |

Honestly, the most likely option is they re-sign him to an extension this summer. They'll lose in 6 or 7 games to Boston, and be able to spin it as not having Nylander and Matthews for multiple games each in the series being the difference, and nothing will change (...again) |

Rangers have to be better there. If they are avg but lead in HDC for they can win the series |

Wasn't posting to knock them. Just showing who getting the chances at 5 on 5. Chytil (if healthy) for Rempe, seems so obvious.
Give that graphic, I'd move Wenneberg to line 4, Chytil to the middle on 3 line. Let line 3 cook. |

I watched video of Jim Cerny talking to Dave Maloney, a series preview thing, and I leave that conversation convinced Rempe is going game 1 at the very least |

My first thought was Cuylle to the 4th line and either Wennberg or Chytil play wing on the 3rd, but the more I've thought about it I think I agree with you. Cuylle - Chytil - Kakko could be the new version of the kid line and Goodrow - Wennberg - Vesey would be a rock solid 4th line |

Just seems lie easy way to get line 3 to start scoring more often. |

From what I've seen so far the practice lines seem to indicate this too. I don't mind this considering Lavy's (and most coaches) tendency to not change things after a win. Still fun to speculate |

I watched that last night. Kinda felt the same. Given the way Carolina hounds the puck all over the ice, it might be good to have their Dmen looking over their shoulders when they are about to start out in their zone.
Still psyched about the prospect of seeing Chytil come out and add some skill, though. I'm torn!! |

Yeah. I think my biggest concern is forwards starting to feel the extra ice time, once he shuts Rempe down. This series is going to be infinitely more of a grind than round 1. |

I saw Carolina is restricting ticket sales to their home games to anyone outside the area for this series. Anyone that has a credit card billing address outside North Carolina, South Carolina or southern Virginia won’t be accepted lol. So pathetic - TPC

Yes. It's happened every year. The (frank)ing Yankees do it. |
