Chytil absolutely could be a game changer

he scored 4 goals in the 7 game series vs the Canes two years ago

- jimbro83

2 years and 3 concussions ago.

I think expectations should be tempered a bit.

In fact Brukie is correct. Could Chytil add so much needed depth and skill? Yes. Depends of if he's actually cleared to play and variety of other factors.

Yes...my expectations for his longevity in the NHL has been tempered, but what he brings to NYR when healthy is nothing but positive

He's been cleared to play weeks ago. Honestly, Lav realized he wasn't needed vs Caps. and now he is just being cagey with his roster decisions leading up to gsme 1

Have I misread things, or has he not been cleared to play for some time now? Like, he wouldn't be fully participating in practices, with a regular, contactable jersey on otherwise. I was under the impression that this is all just further precaution that we can afford, simply because we've been in a position where we don't need to force him in.

oh yeah I do believe the conversation was "could Chytil be a game changer, assuming he's cleared to play and a variety of other factors"

Is he actually cleared to play or was it just a wink and nod type of deal? I don't know. I think if he was actually healthy he might have gotten into a game just to get his timing back and to see how the physicality would take effect on him. Just my opinion on the matter.

My opinion is that they realized they were going to sweep the Caps and get an extra week off and decided there's no point in getting him in one game to get up to "game speed" just to sit for a week and decided to just wait for the series where they'll actually need him. Who knows who is right. My hope is that he is ready to go and he comes in and makes an impact, which I think is most people's (including your) hope.

I know that as fans we think there are all these conspiracies and back room deals, but I don't think that's really how this works.
He was on LTIR, by the book, and by the nature of his injuries, they had the ability to keep him out until the playoffs, even if he was back on the ice. We were rolling against an opponent that didn't push us to the point of desperation, so they held him out.
I feel like him not having been in a game is the only reason this is still debated.

This is almost enough to make me pay for a subscription to this horrible, uninsightful, local rag. Almost!

I saw Carolina is restricting ticket sales to their home games to anyone outside the area for this series. Anyone that has a credit card billing address outside North Carolina, South Carolina or southern Virginia won’t be accepted lol. So pathetic

Wonder if the Brindamour contract thing will be a distraction. Maybe he goes to Seattle
If they we beat them

He won't go to Seattle. He and Francis are not on friendly terms.

Half the population of NC is NY transplants. Between that and the secondary market I have no doubt there will be a lot of ranger fans at those games

Yankees, Rams, 49ers, Predators all do this too. It's to prevent scalpers from buying up all the single game tickets.

Supreme benefit of closing out Washington in 4. Fox would have played a Gm 5 or 6 if he had to and now he can rest a bit.

It's fine on Thursday, he's earned it. If he's still not practicing on Saturday, we have a problem!

It is. They're not keeping Rangers fans out of the building. Hell Cary has gotten the nickname:

There are 157,000 people born in New York that live in Mecklenburg and Wake County alone.

There are 518,000 people living in North Carolina that were born in New York.

Idk. Something fishy is going on because Seattle fired their guy around the same time Rod the bods offer was pulled from the table.

Canes might have a coaching controversy on their hands
