I feel like the Leafs are the better team. Special teams and a better goalie probably mean the Bruins win this though. Especially when you throw in the ref factor - PlatosRepucklic
Leafs are more talented, but maybe not "better". They cannot manage a game to save their lives. |

Even in game management, you don’t ignore an infraction that allows an open net goal to seal a game.
Refs established one minute earlier they weren’t putting the whistles away.
Until they did to let Marchand haul down a Leaf to score on an open net. - Atomic Wedgie
It was interference and it was pretty flagrant.
Pretty tough to win when you are on the wrong side of the PP, PK stats and goaltending.

Just got in. Did the Leafs get jobbed by gary's boys or did they deserve to lose? |

We really do need to get Nylander back. He might have been the difference maker tonight. I don’t think Marner is all the way back from that injury. |

Lilligren needs to go. He is afraid to just go back and move the puck. Getting tired of him trying the reverse hit and getting owned with a turnover.
Hope Matthews is OK. He missed morning skate this morning. Was not really skating well/hard tonight.
Marner gets a point and everyone thinks he was great. At least his turnovers were very visible tonight. |

Player vs. player matchups they have the better forwards, but I would give the Defense and goalie to Boston.
Nylander, and also McMann starts to make the forwards pretty close.
The game management thing is probably what I see as terrible coaching. |

He looked sick tonight. Head down on the bench. Probably what Willie has |

They were talking about how his edgework isn't what it usually is on the broadcast tonight. He's not been good this series. I'd imagine he's still injured |

Some messy refereeing for sure, cost them a goal against. Lot more than that went wrong though. |

Both.
Woulda been nice to see them play on even ice.
For me, the TSN turning point was Leafs on powerplay, scramble in front of Bruins’ net, B’s D smothers the puck with closed glove. No call.
5 on 3 would have given the Leafs’ PP a chance to get jumpstarted. |

Coaching is part of it. But there are repeated stupid mistakes, misreads, blown coverages, inability to maintain focus/composure, etc. that are simply poor decisions by players. They handle transitions in games - after they score a goal, beginning and ends of periods - worse than any team I can remember. |

0-5 on the PP was the dealbreaker. We're not going to get another game like that again either, so if they stick with Swayman -- and they'd be stupid not to -- we're cooked. Bruins in 5. - gravyface
They need to show up on the powerplay like they’re down 2 goals. No intensity. Cutesy stuff doesn’t get you anywhere in the playoffs. |

Agreed. The PP only works when the puck is moving very quickly and drawing opposition out of position. When it's static there is zero deception. |
