The Canadiens had better odds of dropping to 7th or 8th than anything else tonight in tonight's Draft Lottery, so when Bill Daly got to the 7th place, I'll admit it, I was a little bit worried, but when he turned the carton over, the Ottawa Senators' logo appeared phew! One bullet dodged. Then for the 6th place, the nerves returned, but safe again, Daly showed the Utah Hockey Club "logo" (this one is dedicated to all those who said the Draft was rigged and they would win it). Then, a little more suspense before he finally revealed Montreal would, for the second time in a row, be picking 5th at the Draft.

It was hardly worth having a lottery this year as not a single team moved on from its original rank. Still, this is still a win for the Canadiens their best odds had them moving down. Who could the Canadiens' draft at 5th? It's a good question, Thankaton's mock draft has them drafting Cole Eiserman, but we all know anything can happen on the draft floor. Teams can trade and not pick at all, or go completely off the board because their info is better than anyone else.

The Draft will take place on June 28-29, so there's still plenty of time to speculate. Or to just enjoy the playoffs if you're not of the speculating kind.

Now, I've got to tell you I will not be around for the next month or so, I've been having health issues for nearly a year now, and I've got too much on my plate. I've asked Eklund to give me a month off and he's agreed. I'm only telling you this to ensure you don't think I've been run over by a bus of anything. Public service announcement over, have a good month everyone!
