Mitch gets more pts while playing excellent defence.

He deserves 1M more.

counter point, Nylander has scored more playoff goals and is a better playoff performer..that evens it out

We were all uneasy about giving term to Hyman as well, that has aged pretty well for not us.

At some point, if we want to keep good players and there's an avenue to do it, we need to take the risk.

I'm not desperate to keep Bertuzzi but also I'm positive I've seen at least 90% of the posters on this site allude to needing a top six winger with an edge pre Bert. Sounds like a guy we should keep if there's an opportunity to do it.

Knies and McMann SHOULD be able to do what he does at this point.

That doesn't even it out, that tilts the scales WAY in Willy's direction. Playoffs are the only thing that matters. Like Matthews says, getting nominated for awards is nice, but not fulfilling.

At this point, it’s about moving one of them out. Mitch is on his last year and Willie was just extended so #16 draws the short straw. Will happen this summer or next.

The idea in professional sports is to Win. Every year it’s the same thing, Leaf’s lose and they all say how much they Love each other! Too bad. Love each other in the off season, you’re paid $11mil a year to win and you NEVER win. Can’t feel sorry for these guys, poor JT he tries so hard, poor Mitchy we all love him, Morgan is such a nice guy! Keefe is a nice guy we all like him so let’s extend him!! It’s all crap!!! Win or move them.

Even if they were both up for contract renewal, and considering their complete bodies of work, I keep Willy 100% of the time.

Maybe in the reg season.
Sign for willie money or less or gtfu out

- Fakepartofme

I see anger is still making you unreasonable..

Mitch was never supposed to be a physical guy.

He’s not Kadri, Landeskog, Tkachuk..

He’s a Mogilny, Kovalev, Gretz..

Willy isn’t Tom Wilson out there so idkwtf you’re not ripping him for then?

Fwiw, I want them both to stay. JT and Rielly can pack their poop.

Management change coming this summer.

Mitch signs an extension for 12.5 sometime in February 2025.

Things might seem bleak rn, but with the coaching change things will be a lot different.

Guy Boucher and Sheldon Keefe are awful coaches and had no business being behind the Leafs bench.

Woll asserts himself as #1G. Rielly might be gone.

Go Leafs Go.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

as much as I would like that, he looking frail and will need two goalies.
do the Leafs bring Murray on a cheap show me contract as a backup or do they go after Brossoit
I'd like to see all the bench coaches gone.

Apparently all the Leafs love this city and want to stay here. Gotta mean big discounts, right?

Nope. It means Marner isn’t accepting any trades.

They need to figure out their goalie situation, stat.

I understand their approach with Sammy/woll.. but it didn’t work.

They need an Otter, or one of the good Russian goalies.

Marner is the highest pt producer in the playoffs since the Matthews/Marner era.

But go off…

Looked at the top 100 paid D and if Marner did waive there were only 3 even remotely possible D that are at the lowest capable of holding their head above water of playing hard top pairing mins.

Jones
Sanheim
Parayko

The D list in general is pretty weak, its a forwards league.

for some reason its hard for the leafs to win 1 round.
its hard for the Leafs to give their fans some hope and playoff enjoyment

Jones played well until we burned him out, I think I'd prefer him over Murray.
