The Anaheim Ducks played three games this week and also made a trade. Here’s the weekly recap.
DUCKS WIN ONE OF THREE GAMES THIS WEEK
The Ducks picked up two of a possible six points this week, splitting a series with the Arizona Coyotes, before losing to the St. Louis Blues last night. They’ll face the Blues once again tonight.
BEN HUTTON PLAYS FIRST GAMES WITH DUCKS
Ben Hutton, who the Ducks signed at the start of the season, got into game action this week. Hutton played in all three of Anaheim’s games, averaging roughly 22 shifts per game.
DUCKS ACQUIRE CARRICK FROM SHARKS
The Ducks made a minor trade this week, acquiring defenseman Trevor Carrick from the San Jose Sharks, in exchange for forward prospect Jack Kopacka. Carrick is 26 years old and has played a total of seven career NHL games.
As for our poll questions this week, here are some of the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out.
QUESTION: John Gibson has been Anaheim’s best player this season:

I don’t think there’s much of a debate here. Gibson has been stealing games for the Ducks and holds a .931 save percentage so far this year, even after a rough start last night, and also has two shutouts already.
QUESTION: Not including John Gibson, are you happy with Anaheim’s performance so far this season?

No: 91% Yes: 9%
Anaheim’s record may not look that bad but their game-to-game performance has been. John Gibson has arguably been the reason for all three of the Ducks’ wins so far this season, especially considering two of the wins have been 1-0 games.
