The Anaheim Ducks announced yesterday that they’ve signed forward Josh Lopina to a three-year entry-level contract. The deal will kick in next season and carries a $878,333 cap hit.

He will report to @SDGullsAHL on an amateur tryout (ATO) for the remainder of this season.

Lopina will report to the AHL’s San Diego Gulls for the remainder of the season. Given that he’s already 21 years old, it may be a smoother transition to professional hockey and it’ll be interesting to see how he performs at a higher level.
