The Anaheim Ducks announced today that they’ve signed defenseman Drew Helleson to a three-year entry-level contract. The deal will kick in next season and carries a $925,000 cap hit, according to CapFriendly.com.

Helleson was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche yesterday, as part of the Josh Manson trade. The defenseman was originally selected 47th overall by the Avalanche in 2019 and scored 25 points in 32 games with Boston College this season.

A member of the United States’ Olympic roster this year, Helleson will be an exciting prospect for the Ducks. He’s expected to report to the AHL’s San Diego Gulls.
