Was hoping for some news and or rumblings from some of your sources, but I wont complain so what is the next move for this team JJ?what can we expect?Do you think Rocky will tell McD to quit interfering with Bowman? Will free agency start with no moves by any teams because of the CBA?

As always, well written JJ! I myself am trying to encourage myself that some moves will be made. And when July first rolls around we will find out two things,

1. Marian Hossa's Future.

2. Pending #1, what will be done to provide #19 with soldiers to go to battle with.

JJ..... ....one of your VERY BEST pieces. Well thought out and extremely well written.

Good points about the pressures Stan Fail faces too. I'm definitely guilty of not really appreciating the difficulties of his position vis a vis McDonough.

"It remains to be seen if they have a front office with the clarity of thought and intestinal fortitude to break the inertia of a two year slide toward mediocrity."

Not bloody likely.

As much as we may not like McD, there is no denying that he was the right man for the position, and it was the right time for him to be there. Now, moving ahead, if he is trying to push his weight around on the hockey side, Rocky needs to step in and build boundries.

>Thanks, JJ -- great read
>It's actually good to hear that Q gave McD (probably through SBow) some major push-back about the roster
>We've all mentioned it, but this was definitely a "Moneyball" type year with Q and SBow (see John Scott)
>JJ, you mentioned that the players were really PO'd when McD began to show up at practice during a rough stretch for the team
>Think this gives a "terrible aura" of, "Hey, you players WORK for me, you are my employees."
>Hockey players play hockey, they don't respond to suits in the bleachers glaring at them
>If Rocky puts McD back in the marketing bottle and keeps him there, maybe SBow can actually get some things done -- and take some real risks
>An environment of "zero-tolerance" for mistakes is not only unrealisitc, but unhealthy
>My worry is that the Hawks are starting to look like the demise of the '85 Bears
