Come on Paul.

Trying the ostrich method, and ignoring the fact that a guy slashes his coach at the bench, to say nothing of the cliques that could easily develop with Radulov ( the Kosty Bros and him is a clique waiting to happen! ) is just being a cheerleader and ignoring facts.

Its 50/50 whether the move makes the team that much tougher, or blows things up.

But bringing back a guy that hated the coach's system once before, and expecting him to just be a good little soldier is being obtuse to the Nth degree.

It has nothing to do with me being a fan of another team. I've seen this game for 40 years...its not something to take lightly, especially in a room that already seems pretty tight.

Even if that is the case (and I'm not convinced it is - Poile isn't a fool), if he's the piece that gets this team to the WCF or SCF it's worth the price. See ya on the flip side of your first round exit at the hands of the Pens

He'll still be an RFA at the end of this year, so really, he's not going anywhere without Poile having a say in the matter first. Radulov has a long way to go before he holds all of the cards.

The "slash" was accidental. The clip appeared to show a frustrated player banging his stick against the glass behind him unaware the coach was there. I'll take that kind of competitive passion and fire on my team any day.

Rad's problems before weren't so much with the system or Trotz as they were with the team leadership - namely Arnott and Dumont.

I think Trotz is capable of managing the room and easing him in there. It's a risky move but the payoff could be huge. I think the chances of it working outweigh the chances of an implosion.

I love what I've seen from Gaustad so far. He's big, physical on the puck and excellent in the face-off circle. He's what this team has needed for a long time. I hope they can somehow sign him after this season. I would love to have him on this team long term as a 3rd line anchor and a guy to throw in the face-off circle in a clutch situation.

Good to get the 2 points, but man oh man, they have to be better playing with a lead. When they went up 4-2 I thought, "Oh uh", here comes the inevitable let up. Sure enough, not 2 minutes later was the entire team standing around watching Phoenix have their way in our defensive zone, and "whoops" in goes the puck. Rinne was ok, and excellent in the shootout, but this crap where the defencemen (Bouillon, Hillen, Suter, Gill) just stand around is not conducive to playoff hockey. They need to be much better. However, at the end of the day, it's nice to know that this team is now good enough to still prevail even when they play half the game asleep.
