You're treading on Huddles turf!
jk. Good Read man, I'm still mad at the Hawks for taking McNeill. - wolfos412
No, Huddle is merely leasing my long-term ancestral home in prospect land.
(also jk, he's a good dude, and I think he knows I am a bit of a prospect geek at heart).
Thx man |

Is McNeill really just a 3C with the upside of 2C? I had hoped more from him. I loved what I saw from him before his draft. I really wanted him to drop to the Leafs. If I had my choice of McNeill or Biggs + Percey, I would take McNeill. |

I think how productive he can be offensively as he climbs to the NHL is the real question. And not a doubt so much as just what kind of player he will be: a really tough, sound third line type player with some offensive game or a legitimate scoring top 6 type player.
What is interesting is that between Kruger, McNeill, Danault and possibly Nordstrom, the Hawks have three guys who are potentially legitimate third line centers. Will be interesting to see where they all end up.
I would bet the Hawks have McNeill penciled in at 2C in 2014. I know they are VERY high on him, although Danault has lots of fans, too. But then where does Teravainen end up? Maybe at RW. Good problems to have. |

So you're saying the Leafs still have a chance to get him? haha
Oh, after reading your 3rd paragraph. |

Oh, at some point, Bowman is going to have to be a big boy GM and make some decisions on who to keep and who to trade.
You'll note there are no goalies on the list and quite frankly not even close. That is an example where, although they have really loaded up at C, W and somewhat D, the team has holes, both in the pipeline and at the NHL level.
Hawk fans are getting very impatient with Bowman endlessly hyping his prospects (who are ALL realistically 2-3 years out), while sitting on his hands with regard to glaring organizational needs.
Point being, some of this center depth among the prospects will likely need to be dealt at some point and probably soon. |

BOYS!!!!
So....how you feeling about where things are with the Hawks?
Let's say there's no lockout, are the Hawks going into the season with the 5-9 slot all-season long fight again? There's no way they go in with Crawford again and expect different results.
Any word on how Toews is doing? |

I think pretty much 98% of the Hawk fans on this board agree Bowman has done nothing to change what has been a one round and out team the last two years. He is now touting Saad as the savior (by default—how Bowman tends to operate). And not many are buying it. Not that he won't be a good player, but that he is not ready yet for prime time.
Toews is allegedly 100% and has been since the playoffs.

I meant more with his recovery. You always end up hearing things like "I know I said I was 100% but now that I've had more time to recover I realize I wasn't...blah blah blah".
He's good to go though? |

Sounds all too familiar my friend, I've been listening to Burke spit off crap about how he'd take Reilly first overall if he could've.
Glad to hear Toews is good, frigging awesome player who was having a great year up until that injury. And the best part is I traded him (fantasy pool) 1 week before it all fell apart. |

I see Rob Flick didn't make it into your Top 15 list and for good reason based on skillset alone.
But I'm thinking he's the type that will make it to the NHL someday/somehow/somewhere as a 4th liner physical type and some of the other 15 you list won't get there other than for a cup of coffee. |
