If I'm reading this right, you're saying Q, Kitchen and Tampon could be gone before summer if the team has a bad slump, and most or all of them (McD, the Bowmans, Q, Kitchen, ect.) could be gone starting next summer. - EKolb13
Yes and possibly. |

Stan has nooooo stones whatsoever. He only "went after" homeruns - Brodeur, Suter, Parise - and a decent 5-6 pickup in Brookbank. Simply put, he targeted players that cannot hurt him should he get them or miss on them so it's either "we gave it our best shot with _______" or "he'll give us some solid minutes". Couple that with the front office BS and this really sucks. I really had faith that with the '10 team, we'd be right there for the next 8-10 years. Stoopid me. |

Not before they changed coaches and acquired Carter to add another legitimate scorer.
How interested/sober are Carter and Richards now that they have won? Also Doughty was in a funk that makes Keith's look mild. Which player shows up there? How much does Willie Mitchell realistically have left in the tank? Rob Scuderi is not getting younger.
After this year they will have some big holes to fill / a few EL contracts expiring and they will have to totally rebuild their defense and bottom six. They will have some money next year to splash around but how many long term contracts do they realistically want on the books with big money already committed to Doughty, Richards, Carter and Quick until the end of time with Brown probably getting a big pay day as well after his current deal expires? - fattybeef
Carter and Richards get nowhere without players like Brown and Penner around them.. We have players like Richards and Carter. Do we have Brown and Penner types? No

CBA is all about big market owners vs small market owners.
Only a handful of teams were in on the BFF's.
'Hawks won't be hurt on Hoss/DK contracts. Once the dust settled, there could be rollbacks or special condition buyouts/restructuring.
The cap will only be reset if anything is even done. They're not going to completely rebuild from the ground up. JMO. - blackhawk24
My contention from the beginning is the big market teams who have supported the league's weak ssiters won't be hurt when the dust settles. |
