I think it'd be a year later. But I could be thinking about some other thing.

They would have to wait a year, you can't trade a player within a year of signing an offer sheet.

Oh boy I can't wait for the same retarded arguments against signing offer sheets that were used when Penner signed to be reused for this deal.

The poopty think about this is, if the preds dont match. They get poopty a$$ draft picks. Super weak ones. If they match they commit to freakin 14 yrs. Also if they match trading a 14 yr contract is gonna be super hard.

i never said i didnt like Crosby's deal... but i will say, Crosby's is probably one of the more reasonable ones when you look around at the other deals.

looks like it will be 2 firsts, a 2nd and a 3rd. anything 7.8 million and up is 4 1sts but i dont think it goes above 7.8 mil per year.

7.15 million for shea weber is reasonable too. crosby's cap hit is 8.7 million.

It's better than the 1 year scenario some people suggested which would have truly boned them.

Mind you, apparently Philly only did this instead of a trade because they were tired of how slow negotiations were going, so it's partially on Nashville that it happened this way

no idea what the penguins will do now...

Not to mention Philly in reality cant make that beautiful of a trade package. They dont wanna move Schenn's or Couturier. Weber is ok staying in Nash for that long. Unless he knows that they dont want him that long.

Clearly the only solution is to get their D a lot more skilled, faster and stronger. I think Komisarek would be getting a lot of attention with teams needing an excellent player like him.

Flyers get Weber, we get Komisarek...

just doesnt sound right.

but in all seriousness, would expect the Penguins to make a serious run at guys like Ryan, Nash, Yandle, etc.

can we at least get Shane Doan...?

I guess this means flyers are out of the Nash/Ryan blockbusters. I think... Philly is atleast providing entertainment in the last 2 off seasons!

It definitely is four first rounders and hell yes I like it! But I think there's a very strong chance Nashville will match the offer.

Couts and B Schenn don't become RFA's till 2014-15. No need to do their deals now. Kimmo's will be UFA next year, so they will probably gain 6 mill there. I think they are set up pretty well, actually. Older big contracts are ending right about the time that the younger guys need to be redone.

Stupid n Philly they could have done nothing and forced Nashville to sign him to one year deal which is what probably would have happened as it looks like Weber is not too keen on staying in Nashville. Anyways Flyers could have waited one year and then signed him to the same deal with out giving anything up.
