If that's the case (I highly doubt it is, the guy has too much character and talent), he needs to be given lots of game. If he's terrible next year, then you move on. He needs to get a chance though. - thomas81
If injuries were what hindered him last season dont expect that to go away, he gets hurt all the time

My problem/question mark with giving kids top 6 minutes, is that I'm already skeptical about the offense under Carlyle's system. His defense system is well documented, it's his strength and his focus, but I still have question marks about offense, and it's not about the players and their ability to provide it, it's about Carlyle. Last season I saw one too many 0-2 goal games from the Leafs once Carlyle took over, and that's not even my only indication, it's also just my own gut feeling. Take that and then throw in kids with no experience, into an already potentially offensively-challenged environment, and we could see even more issues filling the net.
I hope it doesn't pose a problem, but I guess we'll see. - Kesselmobile
Take into account that Carlyle didn't have a training camp to install his system. That makes a huge difference. Coming into the season and trying to change a system that has been run for 4 years is a hard thing to do.
