I wouldn't even be shocked if nothing happens. He'll say there was nothing out there that made sense for the team and we'll finish 9th and pick a player in the 1st round that never plays a game in the NHL. Yup

thing is leafs have a lot of dead weight in contracts sitting on their team

Komisarek,Armstrong,Connolly,Lombardi


its not that these are particularly horrible players, its just that their either overpaid to begin with or not skating to their potential

Komisarek- for sure, but for 2-3mil he isn't too bad, which is what his salary goes down to for the next few season. Another team may take a chance on that

Armstrong- The guy hasn't been able to workout for like a year now, next season we will have him back in top form and he'll be worth that contract

Connolly- Awful, if we trade for Nash, maybe even Carter, he has to go the other way to clear salary for us. 1 season at 4mil (4.75 cap) left so it's not tooo bad for another team to take him on.

Lombardi- Same thing with Armstrong, his injury has prevented him to be at his peak physical condition. Next season I think you will see the old Lombardi back.

Tom Wilson will play in the NHL, just most likely on the 4th line

I would do that and run because it would be a robbery. His contract despite the length is very respectable at 5.3. Further on in his career if he produces at least 30-30 it will be a very good contract as the salary cap goes up!

exactly, Mac's a little older than Voracek but has put up better career numbers, Kadri was a 7th overall pick = 8th they sent, and 2nd to make up some gaps there. I don't think it's far fetched at all, especially the situation Howson is in and the fleecing Burke is known to do, could be less than that.
