Agreed I still think the MOST negative things I've heard about him have been from Chicago fans. But like I said thats just my experience.

I think there are some Hawk fans who think he is soft, lazy, overrated. There are some people outside Chicago who feel that way.

I will also reiterate that generally, the average Hawk fan thinks more highly of him than the average fan outside Chicago. I talk to a lot of both, believe me and have for years.

Further, the average Hawk fan, and especially the newcomers, don't appreciate how good many other players outside Chicago are.

I moved to a new place January 1 and this losing streak started. Tonight Im going by my in-laws the very house I saw them win the cup in. I've wacthed most games there in the last few years. I will return to my lucky spot on the floor and watch a Hawk victory.

If this happens no more Hawk games for me at the new place.

If this organization, albiet with different front office members, can trade Bobby Hull, Jeremy Roenick, Chris Chelios, Ed Balfour and Steve Larmer. They can trade Patrick Kane.

Question: how many of those trades would you say the Hawks came out ahead on?

Just saying....

Jet was not traded though, right? He was signed away as a free agent right?

Good point.

Still when Joe Thornton was dealt to San Jose, or when Heatley was dealt to Ottawa, they were Kane sized players in the league in terms of reputation and perceived value and both their teams "came out ahead" in those deals.

Thornton and Heatley and what they were once perceived as and what they have become are salient in a discussion on Kane.
