wow.. so much ignorance in this blog of yours .. i wonder how do you live with yourself.
The Sharks need more players like CLowe? what they are not slow enough? Can't you see how some of the top teams dance around the middle of the ice while your Clowe's and Fatbutts waddle in the O-zone?
And I love how you quickly rag on Havlat not realizing his poor contribution has more with the coach than it has with the player.
It's really not Havlat's fault Mcleelloo is forcing a slow game to allow your CLowe's and Fattbutts and Juicys to stay in the play , it's not his fault he was cast into a 3rd line grinder role ( a la Clowe), it's really not his fault that Mcleelloo failed to read his real strengths.
and I really love your playoff references .. an area where Havlat actually excelled in the past .. you'd know that if you actually payed attention.
It seems to me you are not exactly a student of the game .. just another opinionated hack who thinks he knows what he's watching .. even though he doesn't watch much.
Actually knowing how the Sharks org operates I wouldn't be surprised if they thought somewhere along your silly lines.

and thanks .. but I prefer my stick where it is ... safely tucked.

Wow...my sincerest apologies to Sharksfan48, who I thought for sure was one and the same with sharksman here...I even stated so back in an old thread. After reading just a couple of comments from sharksman, Sharksfan48 seems almost congenial.

Hard to say how well or poorly Havlat fits in with McLellan's system. He started the season late, then played what, 20 to 25 games and then got predictably injured right when he was really starting to get his game going it seemed.

Umm how many Havlat playoff games have you seen? Cause I've probably seen them all ... simply because I watch all playoff games of all teams. He was always a reliable two way explosive, creative guy even in his early years with Ottawa whne he was a bit wild, and it showed a lot when it mattered.
Problem is, McLeelo's system is not tailored for players like Havlat and coach also chokes his creativity with board play at the speed of a drunken snail.
BTW, success doesn't necessarily mean putting up a lot of points but if that's what you understand by it then look at his numbers in the post lockout.
You do have a lot of by the book speach that doesn't say anything
BTW .. Havlat is NOT a 3rd liner no matter how much Mcleeloo is trying to turn him into one to protect the feeweings of the Clowe pylon

And interesting assessment of McLellan "choking creativity". I don't see all that much board work within McLellan's system (I just see lots of low percentage shots on net, as if McLellan thinks that the team with the most shots on net wins.) Granted, those can lead to goals - if you have the right guys to play in front of the net to tip, screen and pick up rebounds.

I'm curious - which coaches do you think have a system that is geared towards Havlat?

I agree with this.

I don't want Moen, and I would not trade Murray. I would trade either Demers, or Braun however.

My only untouchables would be Clowe, Pavs, Couture, Murray and maybe Niemi and Vlasic but would depend upon the return for those two.

I would take Ruutu, don't want Boyes, and would give up a Mitchell or a John McCarthy (Very Marginal Prospect type) for Pahlsen

There is no way I would give up Braun, maybe Demers. I don't think Moen is worth giving up either one for.
