Very impressive... could this really be the year??!!!!

It is different this year. This year we will be life and death to hold on to a playoff spot instead of the annual run of futility.

It is pathetic that that is so exciting to this fanbase.

Well I didn't know about the hairdoo.

It makes no difference to me. They Leafs only play him once a year. If he turns into a perennial 50 goal scorer, or he never puts together a full season, I could care less either way. As long as you guys are happy.

Im happy with the young players.

If you're talking about Hall, Eberle and RNH, they likely wont get 7 mil.

All of their contracts are up a year after another and they are all RFA's.

I see them getting deals like Kane and Toews or Myers, multiple years in about 5 mil.

There's really no issue for Edmonton. On the off chance one wants out, they get a bounty of a return. Simple.

Do you think that a Kane or Toews type player would command around 5 on his RFA contract today?

Those young players are already almost costing 4 million against the cap w/ bonuses anyway. Even if they end up making 6 million each that'll only end up being 2 million and change more than they're making now. I love how people can turn having three young star players into a negative. They'll get them under the cap easily.

Schenn is starting to step up his game now, on pace for career highs in almost every category. Definitely need him to be on his game going down the stretch.
